Wildflowers
This ongoing Wildflowers Project is coloured with family history and childhood memories. Getting to know the landscapes around the Centre, we happily observed the daily changes on the forest floor and along the trails through spring into summer and fall. No two flowers seemed to bloom at quite the same time, though each floret and blossom appears in such rapid succession it’s hard to keep track. We tried journaling this progress, noting the life cycle from tiny spikes unfurling into blossoms, the emergence of berries, and stages of decay. Recording the different shapes, colours, habitats and manifestations of the plants is fascinating, as is noting the different bees and insects which these beautiful flowers attract.
